¡Llegó el momento! MTV anunció ayer en un directo de Instagram los nominados a los premios VMAS de este año. La ceremonia tendrá lugar en Inglewood, California el próximo 27 de agosto.
En la lista aparecen nombres conocidos, como Ariana Grande o Ed Sheeran, de los que estamos acostumbrados a escuchar en este tipo de premio. Pero el artista más nominado este año ha sido Kendrick Lamar con ocho categorías, seguido por Katy Perry y The Weeknd quienes han conseguido cinco nominaciones cada uno.
Otros nombres son Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara o Harry Styles –quien este año viene solo debido al descanso de su banda, One Direction.
Algo que ha sorprendido bastante es que ni Despacito de Luis Fonsi y Justin Bieber ni Shape Of You de Ed Sheeran hayan recibido ninguna nominación, a pesar de haber sido número uno durante mucho tiempo en numerosas listas de éxitos.
Como novedad, la cadena ha eliminado las categorías de Mejor Artista Femenina y Mejor Artista Masculino reuniendo ambas en Artista del Año. Y ha añadido una nueva, Mejor Lucha Contra El Sistema.
Es la segunda vez que MTV apuesta por dejar de diferenciar el trabajo de los artistas en géneros, como ya hizo este año en los Movie & TV Awards. Lo que, de nuevo, ha tenido una gran acogida del público.
